The Vote

From The Past: November 28, 2007

The big talk right now is about which celebrity is endorsing which candidate for president.

These are the ones I have heard about:

Celebrities who support Hillary Clinton include Anne Rice, Barbra Streisand, Rob Reiner, Steven Spielberg, and John Grisham.

Oprah Winfrey is endorsing Barack Obama.

Those who sanction Rudy Giuliani include Robert Duvall, Ron Silver, and Pat Robertson.

Chuck Norris supports Mike Huckabee.

I haven’t heard anyone else’s opinions, but I’m sure I will once the election draws closer.

My question for you is this: does a celebrity endorsement have any effect on the way you will vote?

My vote has absolutely nothing to do with what so-and-so thinks. I have my own thoughts and feelings just like they do. After all, celebrities are just people too.

But, I would like to hear how you feel on the issue. If you think a certain celebrity’s opinion matters to you enough to sway your vote, let me know!

  1. Absolutely not! I could care less about so called “celebrity” opinions. As a matter of fact, it would probably make me research my candidate more according to who was rallying for them. I wish they would keep their political beliefs to themselves to be quite honest because it really turns me off when they go on and on about politics. I don’t even want to watch their movies again after they do that. It makes them very unlikable imo.
