Inner Peace

I love Christmas music. Normally before the end of October, I have already started listening to Christmas music on Pandora or Amazon Music. Country Christmas music is the only Christmas music I don’t enjoy and that is simply because I’m not a country music enthusiast. There are countless country music artists and songs I enjoy, but none of those include Christmas songs.

During the day, I spend a lot of time on my phone. After noon, I am on my computer. Most evenings, I find myself watching something on TV with Kevin. So, my Christmas music listening is in the car and during my nightly shower.

If I have a lot on my mind or am feeling the least bit down, Christmas music has the ability to cheer me right up. It may surprise you to know that THE most relaxing Christmas music to me is A Charlie Brown Christmas Soundtrack. If you’ve never listened to it, you will find every song here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFyGxCzF67AnFun7DEgHoKz6vqMi-DIj7

My favorites are Christmas Time Is Here (both instrumental & vocal), Great Pumpkin Waltz, Thanksgiving Theme, My Little Drum and Christmas Is Coming.

Is there a particular Christmas song or type of Christmas music that brings you inner peace? If so, please share!

  1. We are about the same age and Charlie Brown Christmas is my absolute favorite Christmas music.
Eons ago one of the first CDs I bought for myself when CDs were new was that soundtrack.

I also love Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole.. all the stuff my parents played at Christmas when I was little.

The Christmas Waltz sung by Sinatra is one that can take me straight back to being a child at Christmas.

  2. Tami – I have a recommendation for you. You may also enjoy Diana Krall’s Christmas album called Christmas Songs. It’s my go to this time of year. It brings me so much joy and, as you say, inner peace.
