Making Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Bun Spread Toaster Pastries

Currently (2019): Today, on my Tami Dunn YouTube channel, I made Homemade Toaster Pastries using Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Bun Spread. It is a rich, gooey, honey butter-based spread with cinnamon bun spices.

To make these toaster pastries, preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

For the pastry, you will need:

Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry – 2 Sheets

1 egg

2/3 cup Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Bun Spread (or whatever filling you choose)

2 tsp. corn starch

1 Tbsp. water

For the glaze, you will need:

1 ½ Tbsp. melted butter

1 cup powdered sugar

1 ½ Tbsp milk (+ more if needed)

¼ tsp vanilla extract

1/8 tsp. almond extract

Follow Puff Pastry directions to thaw. Remove the Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry from the box and cut each sheet into 6 rectangles. Combine the Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Bun Spread and corn starch. Drop 1 Tbsp. of this mixture onto 6 of your 12 rectangles. Whisk the egg and water together. Run your finger along the edge of the filled squares. Top each filled square with a plain pastry rectangle. Using your fingers, crimp the edges of the pastry, so the cinnamon spread does not run out. Brush the tops of all 6 pastries with the egg mixture. Bake for 18-20 minutes.

While the pastries are baking, make the glaze. Combine all ingredients together. It should be thin enough to drizzle over the hot pastries. If it is too thick to drizzle, add a touch more milk, just a little at a time.

When the pastries are baked, drizzle the glaze over the top and enjoy.

From The Past: (September 20, 2003) Ashley went to a birthday party today and Andrew helped my mom clean. That left Kevin and I with some time alone which never happens. We made the rounds to the smaller stores that we never visit like: Big Lots, Hallmark, and The Dollar Tree. We had a good time together despite Kevin being sick. He’s been very congested and has had a bad cough. I hope that he feels better soon. I’ve promised him that we would stay home tomorrow.

Mom & dad had us over for dinner: fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, macaroni & cheese, green beans, rolls, and pretzel salad. It had been a long time since they had fixed dinner for us all. It was so good! When we go over there, I also enjoy the atmosphere. They have a beautiful dining room with a long table and a hutch with some very attractive china. At Thanksgiving, this is where we play Bingo and other games together. I can smell that turkey now!
