No More Chicken?

Currently (2019):

In today’s Daily Mail, there was an article about how Oxford University scientists are claiming that people who eat chicken have an increased risk of developing a rare form of blood cancer, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma or, for men, prostate cancer. This is where I throw my hands in the air and exclaim, “Seriously?!” Is there nothing we can eat that someone won’t link to cancer in some way? News flash: from the day we are born, we are all dying. Everyone will die. Even those people who go their entire lives without eating processed food. They are going to die too. So, what I say is, you do you. Eat what makes you happy and try not to be judgmental of food that other people are eating that has no effect on you personally. The Past: September 8, 2003

Yesterday the computer wasn’t turned on all day. That really is a record for this family! We sat down and watched Identity. I don’t care for scary movies and until this I hadn’t seen one for a very long time. I guess the closest thing to a scary movie that I had seen in years would have to be Rose Red. Identity is a freaky movie. I really can’t go into the details or it will give it away. I guess I can sum it up in two words: Bates Motel. I think the only reason I was able to sleep was the fact that it was 2 in the morning when we went to bed.

Today the temperature was so perfect (76 degrees!), we had to go for a walk. It was glorious! Fall is just around the corner! Some people are already getting their Halloween decorations out. For that matter, you can go to one end of Walmart and see the costumes and then go to the Lawn & Garden Center and see the Christmas ornaments. It just amazes me! We haven’t bought the first Christmas present. I’m getting worried. Normally we have a few gifts bought by now. I guess we’ll start taking money out of each check starting with the one coming up. I can’t think about that now!

After our walk, we watched Bringing Down the House with Steve Martin and Queen Latifah. Thanks to my sister renting both this and Identity, we didn’t have to pay anything. I love it when you can rent something and then share it with someone else for free.

I’m telling you, all this hype about The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is killing me! I haven’t seen it yet, but I am dying to! We bought the first movie with the extended version. We had to wait several months, but we ended up with a movie with 30 more minutes on it. Now we’re waiting until November for the extended version of The Two Towers. I am so tempted just to rent this version and watch it before I buy the one in November. I think I can make though just as long as no one in the family rents it and then says, “Oh you can borrow it.” If the happens, I’m a goner!
