From The Past: April 23, 2009
This morning I am once again up at 6:15 AM. I brush my teeth and begin to get dressed. As I do this, I hear loud, shameless snoring. I look up to see Guido with his head tucked behind my pillow sawing logs.
I guess he had to hide his sensitive eyes so the bright light wouldn’t wake him! Poor thing!
Yes, I was a little jealous at that moment. The Pug is not dumb. He stays in bed as long as possible. In fact, Kevin has to force him out of bed in the mornings so he can take him outside to do his business.
On weekends, no matter how late we sleep – he sleeps. He is definitely not one of these dogs that have an internal clock which wake them in the morning.
He does, however, have an internal clock which tells him when it is time for dinner or a nightly treat! Last Friday when I arrived home from Ashley’s dance, it was after 6 PM. I figured since we were having a cookout with the family, Kevin wouldn’t have thought about feeding Guido yet, so I grabbed his bowl and asked him if he was hungry. He looked at me the same as always, ran for the bowl and gobbled up every morsel. Immediately following his last bite Kevin calls out to me, “Oh, don’t feed Guido because I already fed him.”
What?!
The Pug never once indicated that he had already been fed!
Yes, he is the smart one in the family.
