First things first: Mom is still in remission! She is feeling good physically, but the paperwork for her insurance is mentally draining. I don’t see how people who are in the hospital for long periods of time take care of any paperwork or get caught up; it’s endless!
Kevin’s dad is in a regular hospital room, but his heart has a flutter which is making him short of breath, so they are giving him Amiodarone. If this medicine does not work, they may have to give him a slight shock to make his heart beat regularly. We will see.

I realize that CSI: Miami airs at 10 PM when most children should be in bed, but these shows are getting gorier and gorier. Last night’s episode was titled “Chip/Tuck”. It was about a plastic surgeon that was pushed into a wood chipper. We were able to not only view the inside of the wood chipper, but were also treated to the investigators pulling what looked like shredded roast beef (body parts) out of the chipper and onto a table.
After last night’s “Chip/Tuck” episode I remarked to Kevin that it’s no wonder things don’t bother me (blood/gore-wise) that used to. I mean, these blood-fests are not movies – they are on television as early as 9 PM. I enjoy the shows and will continue to watch, but it does surprise me how much the networks get away with on TV these days.
When I was growing up, TV wouldn’t have dared to show a rotting, puss-filled corpse. This is why it is so important for parents to be aware of what their children are watching.
