From The Past: April 3, 2009
March was not a big month for watching movies.
3-9-09 Little Miss Sunshine
3-13-09 Pride and Glory – This film was about crooked police officers in New York. It contained graphic violence and a lot of sub-plots which could have been removed to reduce the 130 minute running time.
3-14-09 Fireproof – When a couple is on the verge of a divorce, the husband agrees to take “The Love Dare” for forty days.
3-15-09 Rachel Getting Married – The plot: Kym leaves rehab for the weekend and visits her parent’s home for her sister Rachel’s wedding. I had no idea what this movie was about, but had high expectations since it was nominated for an Oscar. Guess what?! It was SO boring! There was nothing I enjoyed about this movie. If you have seen this movie and actually liked it, please leave me a comment and let me know why and exactly what drug you were on at the time. The whole thing was just odd to me; even the way it was filmed was odd. I’m glad I only spend $4 at the video store and not big bucks at the theatre.
3-20-09 Hancock – This movie was about a superhero who helps, but also causes severe damage while he’s helping. He is not worried about what anyone thinks of him, so he says whatever comes to mind. This story was different enough to keep me interested.
3-21-09 Changeling – This is a very good movie and a true story, although Kevin and I were very frustrated throughout 80% of it! A boy goes missing and his mother is on a quest to find him. That’s about all I want to reveal because the least you know, the better. It is rated R which surprises me.
3-28-09 The 40 Year Old Virgin – The name of this movie says it all; it’s about a man who is 40 years old and a virgin. Once his coworkers make this discovery, they make it their mission to have him bedded. I consider the target audience for this movie to be teenage boys. It had its funny moments and I love his apartment. The action figures on shelves everywhere are awesome. I especially love it that he even has a shelf of men in the bathroom. I thought the main character had a fulfilling life before his friends intercepted.
