12-3-08 Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street – I reviewed this movie in a previous post
12-6-08 The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian – This is a clean fantasy movie about the people of Narnia regaining their land from evil people.
12-10-08 The Christmas Wife – This made-for-TV movie was about a widower who does not want to spend his first Christmas alone so he resorts to a singles agency. I wondered as I watched if it was made for Lifetime TV.
12-19-08 Christmas Vacation – reviewed on December 23, 2006
12-21-08 Anger Management – Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson star in this comedy about an overly calm, almost timid man, played by Sandler, who is forced to attend anger management classes run by Nicholson’s character.
12-23-08 Untraceable – This was an excellent drama about a man who kidnaps people and then kills them in real time, in elaborate ways on his website. The more people who visit the site, the quicker his victims die. This movie has some bad language and some people may consider it to be gory, but I didn’t think the scenes were too bad and that says a lot because I am funny about what I see. Then again, I did watch Sweeney Todd at the beginning of the month!
12-23-08 Domestic Disturbance – If you are only accustomed to seeing Vince Vaughn play a funny guy, you should see him in this crime drama. He is very convincing in this role and kept Ashley on her toes. This film is rated PG-13, I am assuming, for its very intense, suspenseful scenes.
12-25-08 Chaos – Jason Statham, Ryan Phillippe, and Wesley Snipes star in this twisted tale of police officers trying to catch a top notch bank robber. The only negative thing about this movie was the bad language; other than that, it was very interesting.
12-26-08 The Dark Knight – This was an action-packed superhero movie, but, if you haven’t already heard, it does have a dark slant on things and is not intended for younger viewers. I say this because I know many young boys love Batman, but I don’t think they are ready for the violence portrayed, thus the PG-13 rating. The cursing was very minimal.
12-27-08 The Nanny Diaries – A college graduate decides she is not ready for the corporate world and accidentally falls into a nanny position on the Upper East Side of New York City. This film was a good look into the lives of nannies and, even though it is considered to be a comedy, shows how out of touch some mothers are with their own children.
12-28-08 Hitman – In this film, a trained Hitman ends up being the one chased by other highly trained Hitmen. This was an excellent action movie; just know that it contains extreme violence, brief nudity, and some bad language.
12-29-08 The Invisible – This movie was a crime drama involving teenagers. It started off with a very believable story and was extremely interesting, but then ended on a very unbelievable note. The ending was disappointing.
12-30-08 Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – Lara Croft finds an artifact which gives its owner control over time, however someone steals it and she must get it back.
12-30-08 Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life – Lara Croft finds an orb of supreme importance which will unlock Pandora’s Box. When the orb falls into the wrong hands, Croft must reclaim it before harm can be done. Out of the two Tomb Raider movies, I enjoyed the first one better although they are both terrific action-packed movies.
