Mom In Markey

From The Past: November 22, 2008

Mom has an infection and is back in the Markey. They have removed the Power Picc which has been in place since July 9th. She is receiving antibiotics through an IV in her hand. They recommend that she stays on these antibiotics for 10 days before putting in another Power Picc because they want to make sure the infection is gone. She should be able to come home in a few days, but it will be hard doing normal jobs, like the dishes, with an IV in her hand. Ten days will go by quickly though and dad and I will help her do whatever needs to be done. As far as Thanksgiving goes, Kevin and I make great turkey and dressing if she is unable to do it. We have made it for dinner in the past, so we don’t mind at all.

I hope everyone is able to be at the Thanksgiving table this year. The situation is iffy since there are terrible illnesses going around. Mom’s immune system cannot tolerate any type of sickness, so we all have to be careful.
