From The Past: October 9, 2008

Tonight at Wal-Mart we saw Paula Deen candles. They sell her candles at several other places including Dillard’s, but the ones at Wal-Mart are in jars similar to Yankee Candle Company jars. They are also significantly cheaper at Wal-Mart. I believe they were around $7.95 versus the $20 at Dillard’s and $19.99 at Linens ‘n Things. I wish I had taken a picture of them now, but I thought I would be able to come right home and find a better photograph of them then I could take. I can tell you firsthand; they smell wonderful!

They also have Jelly Belly Jelly Beans candles at Wal-Mart. I couldn’t find a picture of those either. Tonight is not my night for finding things! These candles smell okay, but they are nothing in comparison to the Paula Deen candles!

I did not buy one, although I may in the near future. I really, really, really wanted the Yankee Candle – Cinn-ister Swirl which is new this year and out for a limited time for Halloween, but I felt bad about spending $20 on a candle. I mean, it’s not like I can keep it forever. The Paula Deen candles are much more economical.
