From The Past: September 11, 2008
My parents have several hummingbird feeders and have greatly enjoyed watching the hummingbirds this summer. My dad thought the feeder out front must have been getting quite a bit more action than the back feeder because he kept refilling the liquid so quickly.
Yesterday he went out front and I guess the feeder caught his attention because he had only filled it the day before and almost all the liquid was gone. Upon closer inspection, he saw the culprits:
I’m glad the bees are enjoying the liquid, but I wonder if their presence keeps the hummingbirds away.

Mom’s cousins and sister came for a visit. They had not been together for quite some time. I previously met her cousin, Linda, at the Markey and talked to Carlos on the phone, but this was the first time I was able to spend with another cousin, Joyce, who lives in Alabama. She is very attractive and has the prettiest eyes and skin. I very much enjoyed talking with her and her husband, Larry. He was very friendly and interesting. It’s too bad they don’t live closer, but they said they love Alabama.
Me & Joyce
Mom served a lunch of ham, deviled eggs, potato salad, macaroni salad, potato chips, rolls, baked beans, and pretzel salad. Everything was excellent and enjoyed by everyone.

They spent the afternoon looking at pictures and also through old scrapbooks. I listened to stories, laughed and had fun. We should get together more often!
