From The Past: September 1, 2008
Even though it reached 91 degrees this afternoon, I have the fall season on my mind. We closed down the pool today which always makes me look forward to fall. Kevin did his work while I sweated my way through deflating about twenty floats. It always amazes me how hot it can be at the onset of September.
Mom and Aunt Patt came over for dinner. We made Stuffed Shells with garlic bread sticks. It was very enjoyable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsM_TItJHjU&t=246s
After a hand of Skip-Bo, we watched old home movies of Andrew when he was about four years old. He was super hyper, but also very sweet. Then we watched a video of Ashley eating her first bite of carrots, green beans, and peas.
Watching the video of her cringing at the taste of green beans makes me realize that I would never make another baby eat them. A baby’s taste buds are so much more sensitive than an adult. We have no idea how totally disgusting those green foods must taste to them. I mean, would you eat a jar of those green beans now? I don’t think so! Also, twelve years later, Ashley still hates green beans, so forcing them on her those few times when she was a baby did not help.
