From The Past: August 20, 2008
The first day of school was Thursday the 14th. Yesterday the 19th, Ashley brought home a fundraiser packet. She had been in school a grand total of FOUR days and already the fundraisers have begun.
For those of you who may be unaware, fundraisers can come in many forms. Some schools sell flowers or candy bars, cheeses & summer sausage. The book Ashley brought home has a little bit of everything: magazines, candles, chocolates, flower seeds, ornaments, wrapping paper, cards, gift bags, knickknacks, and the list goes on.
The school will receive a portion of the money earned. I have no idea what that percentage is, but I am curious. Although I don’t need one thing, I will order something; probably a magazine that Kevin likes since that’s a gift that keeps on giving the whole year just like the Jelly of the Month Club in Christmas Vacation. I’m sure my two nieces will get fundraiser packets very soon and I will order from them also. My sister has ordered from Andrew and Ashley for years now, so I owe it to Jesse and Sydnee 🙂
