Morning Glory

From The Past: August 19, 2008

My parents have had a morning glory vine ever since they moved into their house back in August of 1980. I don’t know if the former owner planted the vine, but I would imagine it just appeared one day. Mom has never really tended to it; it takes care of itself. You can tell that something has enjoyed nibbling from the leaves, but it still thrives.

This is a view from their front porch:

Mom saw her doctor today for a check-up. She didn’t need any platelets or blood. Her numbers are still on the low end, so if she has a fever, she has to report back immediately. Next week, she is scheduled to have a Bone Marrow Biopsy which will let her know if she is in remission. She seems to be doing well and she looks very healthy, however food doesn’t taste like it should. She experienced this last year, so we know things ought to go back to normal soon.
