Mom is still in the Markey and will be there for the next week to ten days if things go well. Her white blood count is still low, so she has to wait for those to rise before she can go home. She has received many bags of blood and platelets.
This week she will have a lumbar puncture (LP) to see if the Leukemia is in her spinal cord. They will remove fluid and immediately replace it with chemotherapy. After testing the fluid, if it does contain cancer, they will have to do additional treatments.
She said she didn’t mind if I posted a current picture of her:

She looks terrific!
The cards she has received are on the door in her room:

Today was Kevin’s first day back at work after his summer vacation. He is busy enrolling students and working on readying his classes. He likes to change things around, including creating all of his own labs this semester instead of using a lab book.
Ashley had an orthodontist appointment and we took Guido to the vet to have his nails trimmed. He is still having issues with itchy skin under one armpit, so the vet suggested we try ½ a Benadryl tablet each day. He said it may not work, but it won’t hurt Guido if we try.
I did laundry and ironed many shirts. Ashley went through last years school clothes to see what still fits and what needs to be donated.
We trimmed the tree in the front yard, shoveled some dirt, and Kevin mowed the yard. We did some much needed things to say the least!
We didn’t visit Mom because we had so much that had to be done here at home, but Kevin and I both spoke with her at different times. She said her counts were the same and the doctors hope to do the lumbar puncture soon.
