From The Past: March 6, 2008

I love the line in the movie Steel Magnolias when Clairee Belcher, played by Olympia Dukakis says, “Well, you know what they say: if you don’t have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me!”

I actually think of that line quite often and it came to me again this morning as I looked through a catalog we received in the mail yesterday. This catalog had many cute items; however there were two things which I found downright comical. I can’t help it; I get tickled at certain things.

If you have ever watched the television show Everybody Loves Raymond, you will find this product funny:

Yes, that is a translucent cover for your couch. Now I ask you; WHY? If you’re going to be that worried about spilling something on it, if it is that expensive; don’t buy it!

Now, this next product is the kicker. I had never seen this before and it totally cracked me up:

Who the heck has time to dress their washing machine and dryer? Most people do good to dress themselves let alone try to dress a machine. This looks like something that would have been on the show Mama’s Family. I will just go ahead and say it; this looks like something only old people would like. Really. Old. People.

Do I have a warped sense of humor or what?
