420 Day

I don’t smoke marijuana; however, I don’t have anything against someone who does. It’s one of those things where I would say, “never say never”.

What annoys me is the immaturity of some people surrounding the 420 “holiday” and the way some will say, “420 Blaze It”. It just rubs a nerve with me like when a teenager cusses in front of one of their friends. It’s as if they are looking for acceptance, to be part of some special club. What do I know; a 420 Club probably exists.

I was always taught you don’t want to smoke pot because it kills brain cells. This article was very enlightening: https://www.therecoveryvillage.com/marijuana-addiction/marijuana-and-brain/

If you don’t want to read it for yourself, I will give you the short and sweet version.

“Marijuana and the brain have a complex relationship to one another. Marijuana doesn’t necessarily kill brain cells, but when people start using marijuana at an early age, they have been shown to have some declines in IQ and cognitive function later on. In fact, the age at one someone starts using marijuana seems to have the biggest effect on their brain.

What’s interesting is that when older people use marijuana, it seems to do somewhat the opposite and restore some of the functionality of an aging brain to look more like a younger brain.”

So what did I take from all of this? If you want to smoke pot, do it when you are older.
