Uncle Charlie’s

From The Past: February 15, 2007

If you have never tried Uncle Charlie’s meats, I can highly recommend trying it. I can buy a five-pound box of boneless pork loins for $23.50. A box normally has about 21 pork loins, which feeds our family of four for three meals.

The meat is individually wrapped for convenience. This way, if you only want to cook three, you only take out three.

The main company is located in Richmond; however, they deliver to Winchester. Let me tell you how “worth it” these pork loins are to me. I have to go in a tobacco outlet in order to buy them. This isn’t a pipe tobacco store where the smells are wonderful. This is a cigarette store where just about everyone who works there chain-smokes the entire time they are working. If this wasn’t good meat, I would never willingly submit myself to all that smoke. I go in, grab a box from the freezer, pay, and then I’m out of there!

They don’t only sell pork loins though. They have hamburgers, battered mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, chicken breasts, and much more that I can’t remember. At the tobacco store where I buy mine, they have a list of everything offered taped to the outside of the freezer.

*Update* 2023

I am so glad they have a location on New Circle Road in Lexington, Kentucky. It’s right across the street from Sam’s Club. I don’t even know if they still sell their meats from the tobacco store these days. It was convenient, but I would much rather visit their New Circle Road location. They sell meats, plus a lot more.
