I have found a recipe too yummy and easy not to pass on!
Turtle Bars
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter softened
1 cup pecan halves
Topping Ingredients:
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup Reese’s peanut butter chips
Beat flour, sugar, and butter on medium speed for three minutes. Press this mixture into an ungreased 9 x 13 (cake) pan. Spread the pecans over the crust. (There will be gaps where there are no pecans. This is okay.)
For the topping: Combine the butter and brown sugar in a pan. Bring this mixture to a boil and stir constantly. After one minute, take this mixture off the heat and pour it over the pecans in the cake pan. (The liquid will spread out more when you put it in the oven.)
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
After removing from oven: Sprinkle the chocolate and peanut butter chips over the top. Let this cool completely before cutting into squares.
Here’s what it looks like cooling in the cake pan:
Here they are cut into bars:
If you don’t like nuts, they are just as good without!
