7-2-06 The Ring Two
After watching the first Ring movie and being scared to death, I really had high expectations for the second one. Let me tell you, it wasn’t that scary – not at all like the first one. It was a decent movie, but not what I had prepared myself for.
7-2-06 The Family Stone
This was a cute, romantic comedy with lots of famous names.
7-3-06 Monster-in-Law
This was another romantic comedy – predictable, but cute.
7-5-06 Bewitched
I really do love Nicole Kidman. Words cannot describe how wonderful she was in Cold Mountain, The Hours, The Others, and Moulin Rouge. I am sorry to say, this movie was painful to watch. I had to make myself sit there for the ending it was so bad. I don’t blame her although she shouldn’t have accepted the part; I blame the writers.
7-6-06 Proof
This movie was slow. It was interesting – a one-time movie – but very slow.
7-7-06 The World According to Garp
I had just finished reading this book and had to see the movie. My advice is, DO NOT judge the book by this movie. The book was fantastic and I will read it again. The movie was a one-time thing that had much to be desired. Actually, I didn’t care for it at all.
7-14-06 Wedding Crashers
Here is a movie with many famous names that was also very funny.
7-14-06 Being Julia
This was such a wonderful movie! If you enjoy period movies set on foreign soil, you will enjoy this.
7-15-06 When a Stranger Calls
I knew the story behind this movie, but I still wanted to see it and I’m glad I did. I was on the edge of my seat for the last 15 minutes.
7-17-06 Angela’s Ashes
This is another example of me reading a book and wanting to see the movie. This time though, the movie did not disappoint. If you don’t feel up to reading the book, I recommend you at least watch the movie. It is a great representation of the book and was worth watching.
7-20-06 Memoirs of a Geisha
This is Ashley’s favorite movie and I don’t blame her. It is a wonderful story with beautiful costumes and great characters. I will definitely watch it again. If you see it, I recommend keeping the subtitles turned on, just so you don’t miss anything.
Those were all the movies I saw in July.
