From The Past: September 19, 2006

I had picked Ashley up from school and we were on our way home when this conversation occurred.

Ashley said, “Mom, you just have to see this Cancer Barbie! She’s beautiful!”

I’m thinking to myself, Mmmm, would she be wearing a pink dress? You know, because pink is the color you wear to honor breast cancer survivors.

“Really, Ashley? Cancer Barbie?” I asked her.

“Yes!” she replied, still gushing.

At this point, I’m really trying to go through images in my head of how this Barbie would look.

Just as I’m about to question Ashley, she pipes up in the back, “Yea, you know like they have Aquarius Barbie and Gemini Barbie.”

Light bulb moment! “OH! CANCER Barbie! I get it! Okay!”
