From The Past: September 6, 2006

I finished Teacher Man: A Memoir by Frank McCourt.

Let me say, I think there is something in this book for every teacher to learn no matter how long you have been in the field. That said, this is the third book in a series of memoirs, so it would be better to start with Angela’s Ashes: A Memoir and then, Tis: A Memoir.

I also read Spies Among Us by Agatha Christie. This book actually had three separate murder mysteries including:

* They Came To Baghdad

* N or M?

* Murder in Mesopotamia

I can’t describe the feeling I get when reading an Agatha Christie book. Immersing myself in the United Kingdom makes me feel good. The words they use, the things they eat, their hobbies; is all fascinating to me.

I just started reading Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. Kevin read it over a month ago and really wanted me to read it as well.
