On Sunday, our third grandchild, Eevee, turned three. We went to Andrew and Christina’s house to celebrate with them. When we arrived, all three grandchildren were playing outside. Amelia and Eevee were in their bathing suits playing in a new sprinkler splash pad. Gavin was having fun with water guns.
It was a beautiful day and the perfect time for them to be outside. Andrew arrived shortly after us. He had to work that morning, but was able to leave a few hours early for the party.
My sister, Jennifer, her husband Jon, along with one of my nieces, Sydnee arrived about five minutes after Andrew. Sydnee has a child of her own now named Loretta. Sydnee lives with Jon and Jennifer and Jon has really bonded with Loretta. He takes pride in taking care of her and showing her new things. He already has plans for her when she starts school to attend 4H. I let Sydnee know in a joking way, she would never be able to move out and if she did, she would have to leave Loretta. In all seriousness, I think Jon will go into a depression if/when she leaves.
Christina made cheeseburgers and we talked for a while. Then we went inside and watched Eevee open her presents. Right after that, we had cake and ice cream. Christina ordered the cake from their local Walmart. It’s been years since I’ve had a cake from Walmart that I actually ordered. It was delicious though and very fresh.
We left around 5:30 and headed back home. As we were pulling in our driveway, Christina texted me a picture of Eevee. She was fast asleep. That’s how you know it was a successful party.
This brought tears to my eyes. A day of celebration for your family…in so many ways.
Happy Birthday, Eevee! 🥳
Thank you 🙂
