Yesterday morning when I got up, my throat was sore. I figured a few cough drops would make it feel better and that would be the end of it. No such luck.
As the day progressed, it got more painful and I knew I would have to see a doctor. I went to the walk-in clinic and sat in the waiting room for about an hour before they called my name. By this time, my throat was in immense pain. It hurt to speak and all I wanted to do was lie down. The nurse took my temperature and it was 100.2. She then, swabbed my throat for strep and I waited some more.
The test was negative (which was completely shocking to me), so the doctor swabbed my throat again so that they could do a more thorough test. This test takes 24 hours, so I won’t find out anything until tomorrow. She prescribed me a Z-pack, so if I do have strep, this medicine will take care of it.
