What Looks Like Crazy

I just finished reading What Looks Like Crazy on An Ordinary Day by Pearl Cleage. Mrs. Cleage has written plays, essays and columns; however, this was her first book. Since this book was published in 2009, she has written many more books I plan to look for.

I found the paperback version at a great price at a book sale and enjoyed it from start to finish. It is about a woman named Ava Johnson who is living with AIDS. She returns home to visit with her sister before traveling on to San Francisco when things begin to happen. She meets many people in the community and discovers how much she missed her home.

I love the way that Mrs. Cleage describes the simple things. From the way Ava eats a tomato to the wildflowers near the lake; it is all good. She makes it feel like home.
