From The Past: January 19, 2005

As Ashley got dressed this morning, she complained that she couldn’t button her pants. I went over to help her and found that her pants wouldn’t even meet together.

Since they have an adjustable waistband, I looked at that, but it was out all the way already. The bad thing is that those dress pants are around $25 each and she has outgrown all three pairs in one day! (They were all the exact same size.) Lucky for her we had a different pair with an elastic waist in the closet. And guess what! This pair has no belt loops! The rule at her school is that if there are no belt loops, no belt is required. I wonder how long it took those geniuses to come up with that one?!

I guess we will be shopping this weekend for new dress pants. It would be nice if we could count the expense on our taxes since it is dress code and it is required. Does anyone know if that would count for next year’s taxes?
