From The Past: December 18, 2004
I think everyone in Winchester was in Wal-Mart this afternoon. It was packed! Of course, everyone decided to check out at the same time; it seemed that way!
We spent $230. Very little of that was spent on last minute presents. Most of it was on food. As in years past, Kevin and I have decided to host Christmas Eve. We make appetizers and the family watches the kids open their presents from us. Christmas day is spent at my parent’s house eating and opening more gifts.
Here’s what is on our Christmas Eve menu:
*little smokies
*cheese ball/Ritz crackers
*country ham on mini biscuits
*potato skins
*summer sausage/cheese/Ritz crackers
*buffalo chicken wing dip/tortilla chips
*punch
Believe it or not it takes a while to pull all of this together. This year my sister will be here with her two three-year-old’s. This will also be our first year with Guido the hyper pug. It should be an interesting night to say the least!
Currently (2020): This year, we are having family over on Christmas Day simply because Ashley requested we celebrate on Christmas Day. She wants to have something to do on that day. If we celebrate the night before, it’s all over and there is nothing left for that day.
This is the menu for 2020:
Cherry Chews
Oreo Balls
Praline Bark
Peanut Butter Fudge
Walmart cookies
Lofthouse cookies
Cheese Ball / Ritz crackers
Buffalo Chicken Dip / Tostitos Scoops
Sausage Balls
Potato Skins
Little Smokies
Summer Sausage / Sliced Cheese / Ritz crackers
Potato chips
Everyone always asks what I would like for them to bring. I only ask that they bring whatever drinks they want. That way, everyone is happy and we don’t have to worry about it.
Love it!!!
