On Thanksgiving Day 2004, I posted some pictures taken at my parents house (now our house) that I thought you might enjoy. Not only is it fun to see how the kids have changed, it’s also neat to look back at certain rooms in the house before we renovated.
This is Ashley & my niece, Jesse. We still have this red chair. This was taken near the front door. We no longer have carpet or Linoleum in this room. Also, the blue is totally gone, but mom and dad painted over that. Kevin and I haven’t touched this room other than the floors.
This is my other niece, Sydnee (the one who sees/hears ghosts). She is sitting on my Grandmother Scott’s couch which mom and dad had recovered. This is the same room where Ashley & Jesse were sitting and currently has gold wallpaper.
This was the layout of the kitchen before our renovation. I think mom would like the changes we have made because there is more space, however she would definitely have added curtains, pictures and many accent pieces.
This is the dining room which we also renovated. We removed the wallpaper and stripped the layers of paint from the moldings and mantle. This is the table that sits in my sister’s dining room today. I honestly don’t remember what happened to the hutch or the cabinet behind the table. I do know that my sister has the Christmas dishes that can be seen in the hutch. I made sure to give them to her after mom died because I thought she would use them more than I would. I have no idea if she has ever used them though. I don’t know what became of the red chairs.
This last picture was taken in the den. This room no longer has wallpaper or carpet. This room currently has green walls and is where we watch TV. As you can see, Kevin and Andrew (with longer hair) were doing something in front of the TV; probably playing a game.
I enjoyed going through these pictures and I hope you enjoyed it too. Looking back at pictures like these makes you realize that you should have taken one of each person, either by themselves or as a group. There are never enough pictures, in my opinion.
I hope that everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Day today 🙂
Enjoyed seeing the pictures. I really miss those days.
I do too!
Thanks for sharing, Tami! Happy Thanksgiving! Sending festive greetings from Austria.
