From The Past: October 20, 2004
A few months ago, when my sister bought her motorcycle, she also decided that she wanted to clean crime scenes. She figured that no one else wanted to do it and that she could make a lot of money.
She received a call from a man who said that they would pay her $1,000 to clean a crime scene. It is in a hotel room here in Kentucky where a person committed suicide and blew their brains out. The police just released the room and now it can be cleaned. It seems that blood is everywhere; the wallpaper, carpet, and everywhere else. She says that they want her to dispose of the mattresses and bedding. If she cannot remove the stains from the carpet, she will have to rip it out. I guess the same goes for the wallpaper.
She will find out more today. If this job goes through, it will be she and her husband that do it. I wonder though how they plan on disposing of the mattresses, carpet and other things covered in blood. I’m sure you have to dispose of these things in a particular manner and I’m sure there is a fee. I have no idea what special chemicals would be needed to remove blood.
Jennifer called to give me an update about this job. She’s not going to do it. They wanted her to be bonded so their insurance company would pay her fee. There’s no way that she could accomplish that by this weekend. Maybe this will be something that she will work on so that she is prepared to do the next job.
Currently (2020): I had forgotten that Jennifer looked into doing this. Once she found out the requirements, she dropped the idea and we never heard about it again.
