Ask Yourself

Here are a few interesting things to ask yourself:

If you were to meet yourself from a decade ago, would you recognize yourself? Would you have anything in common? Would you get on, or would you find yourself irritated with your naivety? Would you tell yourself to do anything differently or do you accept everything that has happened between then and now as necessary on the path to who you are now and who you are to become?

Would I recognize myself ten years ago? Yes, but not necessarily in a positive way.

Would you have anything in common? We would still have general things in common such as favorite movies, authors, foods, some TV shows; easy things like that.

Would you get on, or would you find yourself irritated with your naivety? We would get on as long as we stuck with basic subjects. Kind of like how I am now with everyone except immediate family.

Would you tell yourself to do anything differently or do you accept everything that has happened between then and now as necessary on the path to who you are now and who you are to become? I would like to school myself on certain subjects, however I know that I wasn’t open to listening. So, I would choose to stay silent in order to end up in the place where I am currently. The answer to this would be different if I could go back more than ten years.
