From The Past: May 30, 2004

We just finished watching The Abyss on DVD. Even though it came out in 1989, I had never seen it previously. We bought the extended version which added about thirty minutes to the running time. Kevin was able to tell me which parts had been added. The first thing I said when it was over was, “Okay, I’m ready to watch part two now.” To which Kevin laughed and informed me that there is NO part two! Let me say that they need to make another of these movies. It was wonderful!

In other news: Kentucky has been bombarded with rain and tornado warnings today. As the rain began to slow down, we walked out in the back yard only to be greeted by another pool (this one was courtesy of Mother Nature). Our yard was totally flooded. We stood on the deck so that we could see our neighbor’s yard and his yard was much worse than ours. There was no grass to be seen in his yard. We’re supposed to get hit again tonight by more storms. We can only pray that it won’t be bad.
