Japanese

From The Past: February 10, 2004

Andrew is learning to speak Japanese! He did very well in Spanish last semester, but I’m wondering if taking the two back to back will be confusing. This Japanese class is a special after school class and was only offered to a certain amount of people. I am flattered that Andrew was one of the chosen few.

On to another topic: I think my car may be on its last leg, or tire. I have a ‘96 Saturn that has over 105,000 miles on it and I think the poor thing is just tired. Get it? TIRED! Okay, bad joke. Anyway, this car is paid off. I put gas in it, make repairs when something goes wrong, and get the oil changed and that’s it. But here lately, getting it repaired doesn’t seem to do any good. Everything is so old and in such bad shape, that everything needs fixing. I keep thinking maybe if I wait a little longer, it will fix itself. Kevin says that cold weather is hard on cars, so then I think, maybe if I just wait until it gets warmer, I’ll see if it runs any better. Honestly, we need to be looking for something now. I would love an SUV of some sort, but I know that we can’t afford the monthly payments. I think I’ll be keeping the Saturn for a long, long time.

Currently (2020): Before anyone asks, I will answer the question on everyone’s mind. I do not recall Andrew learning any Japanese. He may have learned some phrases at the time, but if he did, it was short-lived.
