From The Past: January 4, 2004
After two weeks off from school and work for the holidays, it is now time for everyone to return. The kids will return to school and Kevin will go back to work. We will all get up between 6 and 6:30 in the morning. I know it has to be done, but I do dread getting up. We have gotten used to 3AM bedtimes and 11AM beginnings. Things are about to change drastically to say the least.
In order to try and help, we got up at 10:00 on Saturday and 9:30 this morning. Do I think that will help? Not really. 9:30 is still a far cry from 6:30. I would say that we will all be ready for bed early tomorrow night.
It’s hard to believe that half of the school year is gone. The kids only have about 4 months left. Hopefully they won’t have more snow days. I’ve told them both that snow days equal more days tacked on at the end of the summer. Andrew says that he doesn’t care, but believe me he will care when it’s hot enough to go swimming and he’s stuck in school.
Currently (2020): I don’t know how it is already January 4th. I haven’t been avoiding blogging; I honestly just haven’t had the time to catch up until today. On Saturdays, I take the day off from getting my steps. Kevin and I typically go shopping, so I still get 10,000 steps, just not the 20,000 steps that I try to get 6 days a week. Today has been different though. I really needed to get caught up saving videos for my YouTube channel, so I made up my mind that I was going to sit at the computer until the job was complete.
I am happy with what I was able to accomplish. I did finish what I set out to do, but truth be told, I could spend another entire day working on videos for Kevin’s Lunchtime Review channel. Kevin records the videos, but I’m the one who actually saves and uploads them. Maybe tomorrow I will work on those.
Since I sat the majority of the day, I just now got 5,000 steps. That’s okay though. It was a true day off from activity. It’s actually very time consuming trying to get 20,000 steps each day. It takes about 4 hours of walking, which, when you think about it, is a good hunk of the day. It’s not too bad as long as I get an early start.
In the vlog this coming Monday, I talk about everything we did on New Year’s Eve. I mentioned Amelia’s LOL house and how it has things that light-up and a toilet that makes noise. This is a picture that I took of one of the rooms. It is incredibly cute. We may buy her the LOL Chalet next Christmas.
Happy New Year!
