From The Past: November 28, 2003
This is supposed to be the busiest shopping day of the year. Did we get out? No, but we never do. We save this day, the day after Thanksgiving, for putting up our Christmas tree. It’s a tradition for us to do it on this day. I’m so glad that we started it too, because it keeps us at home. They showed the mall and other shopping centers on the news and it looked just horrible. Some people were saying that it took them a half an hour just to find a parking spot at the mall. I’m a pretty patient person, but I don’t think I would have done well waiting half an hour to park. I get aggravated enough finding a parking place on a good day.
Anyway, the tree and house look beautiful. I might put a picture of it on here at some point. I can’t wait until I get to sit on the couch in complete silence and just look at everything. I love all the lights and bright colors and the memories that each item brings. Kevin and I can pretty much name where each of our ornaments came from or who gave them to us.
We watched Garfield’s Christmas today. I really need to find that on DVD or tape and buy it. My recording from TV is pretty old, but it is neat seeing the commercials from years ago. One thing’s for sure: McDonald’s was around then too. I think there are at least ten McDonald’s commercials on that one VHS tape!
Did you ever get the Garfield DVD? It’s available from Barnes and Nobel and ebay, or if you don’t need a physical version, amazon prime has it for just $1.99
Yes! I actually bought the Holiday collection DVD and still watch it after all these years 🙂
