Changing Rooms

From The Past: September 30, 2003

Kevin got his last shot today. The P.A. said that he sounded much better. She also gave him the okay to go back to work tomorrow.

I guess the kids are enjoying their fall break from school (they get a week off this year), but it’s hard to tell. We’ve been to the doctor’s office two days in a row now, so I guess tomorrow will be their first real day off.

In TV news: I am excited about Frasier tonight. Patrick Stewart is supposed to guest star and I just love his bald head!

I am so glad that we can record TV shows and then watch them later. This saves me so much time. Last night, The Learning Channel was airing a Trading Spaces special called, “They Hated It”. It was supposed to have special interviews with the designers and the homeowners who hated the way their rooms had turned out. I recorded from 8 until 11.

When I was finally able to watch the show, I was disappointed to find out that the so-called “interviews” lasted LESS than two minutes at the end of the original show that aired months ago. I ended up fast-forwarding through the hour-long episodes and then watching the last two minutes of each hour just to see the “special interviews” tacked on to the end. What a rip off!

The BBC show, Changing Rooms, had an hour long special where they spent the entire hour interviewing the homeowners and the designers. Watching how well the BBC produced their show only made these episodes of Trading Spaces look bad.
