Currently (2019): Big Brother is over for 2019 and I am glad to see it end. Yes, I could have stopped watching when I realized it had turned into a dark reality TV competition show, but I decided to stick with it.
After watching the events in the house this season, the realization finally came to me that anyone can go into the house and say anything. They can make accusations, make up huge lies, manipulate and say absolutely anything to get ahead. It doesn’t matter who they hurt by telling their lies. And many people would respond by saying, well, that’s the game; that’s Big Brother.
I guess that’s not the Big Brother that I enjoy. I have said it many times and I will say it again, Big Brother UK was a completely different show.
On the American version, they won’t even let the houseguests discuss things that were said inside the house. At the finale, the hostess brought up misunderstandings and things that were said to cause hurt feelings, but the houseguests were never able to state the things that were actually said. If houseguests slept together in the UK, the TV audience would know about it. In America, I believe they do their best to cover it up.
It seems like a LOT is hidden from the American audience. They edit the show to make America like who they want them to like and hate who they want them to hate. The producers paint the picture they want us to see.
In the end, the snake in the grass was awarded the money and that’s after he had already won $10,000 earlier in the season. It’s sad. I’m not sure that I will watch it again.
