From the Past: September 22, 2003
Tonight will be a full night of TV viewing. This is premier night for many of our returning favorites. We will have to record several shows and watch them tomorrow night because there are three shows coming on between 8:00 and 8:30 that we really enjoy. Here’s our line-up for tonight:
8:00 – 10:00 Fear Factor 2 hr. special (record)
8:00 Monster House (watch)
8:30 Still Standing (record)
9:00 Everybody Loves Raymond (watch)
10:00 CSI: Miami (watch)
I am aware that many of you don’t watch this much TV in a month, but around here we look forward to these shows. Unfortunately, this is the last season for many of the shows we enjoy like: Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, and maybe even Frasier.
To my credit, I haven’t gotten involved in any new shows and I don’t watch any TV during the day. Most of the shows we watch are also enjoyed by our kids. So, this is “family” viewing time. 10:00 is their bed time, so they miss out on the more adult themed shows like CSI and ER.
Did anyone watch the Emmy Awards last night? I recorded them and then watched by myself today. That way I could fast forward through all the stuff that I didn’t care about. I do the same thing with the MTV Music Awards. I really only watch so that I can see the clothes and hairstyles. I like to sit here and ooh and ahh about what everyone dared to or dared not to wear! Oh well, tonight should be exciting!
After writing the above paragraphs, I decided to go out back on the deck to enjoy the view for a bit. As I looked over the railing into the pool, I saw a dead bird floating in the water. It was hung up on the thermometer and it was big. I had Kevin get it out with the pool net. He put it in a Walmart bag and deposited it in the Herbie. Good thing they pick up the trash tomorrow. I don’t like having that thing in there. Now I wonder what happened to make it fall into our pool. When a bird dies, does it normally just fall out of the sky while in flight or is it typically sitting somewhere? No matter how it happened it’s still eerie seeing it like that where we swim!
