Catch Up

(Currently 2019): I’m terrible with blogging, I know. In 2003 when I blogged, that was all that I did; there was no YouTube channel. Now, YouTube is my #1 priority, so the blog has to take a backseat. So, let’s play catch up with the old posts that I missed.

(From The Past August 18, 2003): Friday night we watched S1m0ne. It’s about a producer who has a movie he wants to release, but then suddenly the leading actress leaves. If he keeps her image in the movie at all, she will sue, so he has to find someone else to play her part. When no one is to be found, he uses S1m0ne (Sim One or Simulation One), a digital computer image to play the role. The whole world falls in love with her not knowing that she doesn’t really exist. I truly loved this movie and would definitely sit through it again. It’s very different and I like different.

Sunday afternoon mom took Ashley to Leeds Center For the Arts to see Cinderella. While she was gone, we sat down to watch About Schmidt starring Jack Nicholson. Jack plays Warren Schmidt, a man in his 60’s that has just retired after a long, successful career in the insurance business. He’s trying to find meaning in his life throughout the whole movie. It was different and interesting; however I wouldn’t want to see it again. It had some humor, but it was slow-moving. I guess I was just expecting more of a story to develop and it never did. Ashley did enjoy Cinderella though. I knew she would.

August 19, 2003: I am very proud of Andrew. He earned his first check today mowing someone else’s yard. I think this is the first time that he has earned money from someone other than family. I believe that he is proud too.
