The Present (2019): Today was my cleaning day as usual, but I also had Gavin and Amelia over for a play-date. We played our version of Clue, Mall Madness and Monopoly. I actually really enjoyed how we played Monopoly and will play it with him that way again. We rolled the dice and I gave out property cards whenever we landed on a square. When the property cards were all gone, whoever had the most, won. It was a lot of fun. https://amzn.to/2JZNbUT

Liquid Growth
This is the third year that Andrew has been conducting science projects and making science boards for middle school. The first year, 6th grade, he did a solid rocket launch. He had a partner that year and they won third place. For 7th grade, he tested all different kinds of batteries in flashlights. That one was very expensive because of all the different kinds of batteries. His board was perfect and the information was right on, but we won nothing. This year we decided to be frugal. We bought eight tomato plants and “fed” them four different types of liquids: water, coffee, RC Cola, and vinegar. The experiment was to see which plant grew the best. I’m sure you can guess that the water lived, but the coffee wasn’t that far behind. The RC Cola plants literally rotted. We ended up putting those two plants in zip lock baggies because they smelled like the inside of a dumpster. The two vinegar plants died after the third day. That was way too much for them to handle! Anyway, we just got home from the academic expo at the school and found that Andrew had won first place. YEA! I am so happy for him! We have been waiting for this for three years now. Here is a picture of Andrew and the winning 8th grade project.
And here is the board alone.
This was second place.
This was third place.
I don’t even know who this boy was; I just thought the hover craft was cool. I have to add though that he about fell off the thing. Can you say DANGEROUS?
