The Present (2019): We found out today that our town will no longer offer curbside recycling. This comes as a big shock to Kevin and I because we actually enjoy recycling. We have two cans in our kitchen; one is for recycling and the other is for regular garbage. Likewise, we have two Herbies that go to the curb once a week; one for recycling and one for garbage. The people who collect the garbage will still empty both Herbies, however everything out of both bins will go to a landfill.
Kevin and I discussed this and we have decided that we will continue to sort our garbage the same way that we have for years now. At least this way, we will still save on some garbage bags. Also, if the curbside service ever returns, which they said was possible, we will still be in the habit of recycling.

Cat Food?!
Just in case I forget to ever mention this: Our cat, Church, is a FREAK. He loves all things orange; Cheese Nips, Cheetos, and Diet Sunkist. I don’t know what his deal is. Oh, and he also loves peanut butter on Ritz crackers. FREAK!!!
As of today Lexington will no longer do paper recycling.
Here in St. Louis they stopped paper, cardboard and glass. Only tin and certain plastics. We loved recycling and by far our recycling was always way more full than the trash can.
Is there still some sort of municipal center you can bring the recyclables to maybe once a month? Also, you can still do bottles at the supermarket, right?
If you buy glass bottles (we never do), you can return those to the store for $.
In NY they do plastic too, so all your clear americans, etc. could be recycled that way–but after seeing the vlog I see that it looks like this is just temporary–hopefully
