Watching Sadie

Currently (2019): After spending a week at my dad’s house, Ashley will be sleeping in her own bed tonight. She dog sat/house sat for him while he and his wife traveled to Naples, Florida. Ashley said that she got the best sleep she had had in years on his mattress.

My dad’s dog, Sadie:

New Shoes

For months now, Andrew has been wearing the wrong size shoes. He has insisted that he wears a 10 or 10 1/2. My dad gave him some tennis shoes and even bought him a new pair of Sketchers boots (size 10). Kevin and I just snickered to ourselves. We knew good and well that he wasn’t up to a size 10. He had barely been in an 8. I guess he wanted to compete with the boys at school. He says that one boy wears a size 15. He might since he’s over 6 feet tall, but Andrew is 5 foot 5! Dumb old mom and dad! What do we know!

A few days ago, Andrew started saying that the boots were killing his feet. He said that he couldn’t run in them or anything and he needed new tennis shoes. Kevin suggested we go to Kohl’s in Hamburg. Once we got there, I discovered that everyone in Lexington was buying new shoes at Kohl’s. They also sell about fifty different brands of tennis shoes and then there are different types like: walking, running, climbing, etc. I thought I would go mad! Not to mention the fact that Andrew still believed that he wore a size 10. I’m telling you, I felt like pulling my hair out!

After about an hour (it seemed like three) I, his dumb mother, who has absolutely no taste in the whole world, picked out the perfect pair of tennis shoes. They weren’t too narrow, they had a little color, they were on sale for $31.00 and they were a size 9! Check them out! I am so gloating right now!!!!

  1. LOL-of course every kid knows Mom and Dad don’t know anything…until they grow up and realize that Mom and Dad were right all along…if only the wisdom of adult-hood would blossom in our youth.
