Currently (2019): We stopped by Aldi this afternoon so I could shop the Easter candy. We bought lots of fun foods to review. The good thing is that everything is individually wrapped for the most part, so after we review it, we can add it to Gavin and Amelia’s Easter baskets. The candy we bought was made in Germany and has the prettiest wrappings.
We have been to the Lexington Cemetery a lot lately. There is a perfect time to visit during spring and a perfect time to visit during the summer. I am trying to visit on the perfect spring day when lots of trees are in bloom and daffodils are swaying in the breeze. I never expected it to be busy on a Thursday afternoon, but was actually quite busy. We saw people everywhere taking pictures. We saw single photographers hoping to capture the nature, parents photographing their children, moms photographing teenagers and large families having photographs taken. I’m glad that people enjoy it for its beauty and it is not seen as a morbid place to go to have an enjoyable afternoon.

Hot Spots
We are trying to save up some money so that we can get away this summer. If it’s only for a few days, that’s okay, it would be nice to go somewhere though.
Here are a few places I am thinking about:
*Gatlinburg, Tennessee – we went here two years ago and had a good time, although Andrew had to be constantly entertained or he wasn’t happy. If you think about it there is not a whole lot to do besides shop and Andrew HATES to go shopping.
*Mammoth Cave – We have never been here. I have heard that they have added go carts and other entertainment, but the caves are supposed to be the real appeal and I don’t know if the kids would really enjoy them.
*Asheville, North Carolina – Home of Biltmore Estate. This house (mansion) has been used in many movies including The Private Eyes, Ritchie Rich, Being There, and many more. The Vanderbilt family still owns Biltmore Estate which is 8,000 acres. The road leading to the estate is three miles long and there are 250 rooms. There is also an Inn on Biltmore Estate, so we could actually stay on the property. How cool! I think that Kevin and I would enjoy this, but I don’t know about the kids. I think they would enjoy the Rooftop Tour and the tour of the house, but after that, I think they would wonder, “Where’s the fun stuff?”
*Cincinnati, Ohio – Paramount’s King’s Island & the Cincinnati Zoo. Okay, I think the kids would really love this, but they are two totally different sizes and ages and they will be interested in totally different things. Although, I don’t think Andrew would ride the big roller coasters, I do think that he would enjoy rides that Ashley would be too little for. Ashley, on the other hand, would be content to stay in Hannah Barbara Land all day (so would I). Last time we went, I think everyone had a good time. We walked all over the park and saw all the shows and I think both kids got their fill. Ahh, the traffic there is always so bad though!
Beautiful pictures Tami.
