Currently (2019): The morning started off cold, but by this afternoon, the weather was perfect for a walk. We had blue skies, fluffy clouds, trees blooming and daffodils to greet us as we walked by. It was perfect. A few days ago, Ashley bought me two peony bushes, so Kevin planted those for me in the back yard and then we trimmed the rose bushes way back before they could start growing for the summer.
My sister visited for a little while with my nieces. They both needed help with their math homework. Fortunately, Kevin was able to help them. I have never been good at math. They only have a few months left of their junior year. It’s hard to believe they will graduate next year!

Shrimp Scampi
Around 11:30 last night, Ashley’s ear infection worsened. She cried and cried until I gave her another dose of medicine. I had given her Motrin, but it didn’t seem to help at all. She slept beside me, my little bundle of heat. I love it when she sleeps with me because she keeps me warm and she always smells so good. I think the second dose of medicine helped her go to sleep although she said that her ear kept “popping”.
I have made her an appointment with an ear specialist here in town. The only bad thing is we have to wait until April 22nd to be seen! I called about ten other places and they all had a long wait. One office said that they didn’t have a free appointment until May! Now really! Who in the world would want to wait that long! I’m steamed that I have to wait a month. The one thing that makes it better is knowing that Ashley is feeling better.
On a happier note: I cooked something new for dinner! When we were over at Sam’s Club last weekend the demo lady let Andrew and Ashley try some shrimp scampi. They both loved it, so I bought a box. I cooked a bag of egg noodles and fried the shrimp in a skillet. When it was all finished, I put the shrimp on the egg noodles and drizzled some of the juice from the shrimp on top. Mmmm, Mmmm, good! Wow! We will be having that again and soon! It was easy to make, easy to clean up, and it was delicious. You can’t ask for more than that!
I live in Mississippi and it was about the same weather here, cool/chilly in the morning (upper 30’s) and ended up being in the mid 70’s that afternoon. It was a very pleasant day, you have to love the spring season.
