Workweek Hustle

Currently (2019): On Sunday, I accepted the “workweek hustle” challenge on Fitbit. I don’t accept these challenges every week because I find them to be very time consuming if you are a competitive person such as myself. There are three other people who signed on to this challenge. We can check in at any time to see how many steps each person has taken. This creates the competitiveness, which is good because you take more steps.

Earlier today, I checked in to see where everyone was and another person was about 15,000 steps ahead of me for the day. Keep in mind that I normally get a total of 15,000 steps in a day if I’m lucky. When I saw how far behind I was, panic set in. I have literally been walking for hours so that I could get ahead. I currently have just over 30,000 steps which is still only 1,500 steps ahead of that other person. That is more steps than I normally walk when we are at Walt Disney World. To put it into perspective, that’s over 12 miles. Now you understand why I can’t compete every week.

Ear Infection

At 7:25 tonight we had to make a mad dash for Brighton Place in Lexington. Ashley has yet another ear infection. She tends to wait until the last minute to tell us about them. I think she wants to make sure that she has one so that we won’t take her to the doctor for nothing. That is a very mature way of thinking; however, we would love to have a little more notice. The doc prescribed the good pink stuff; twice a day for ten days. Hopefully, it will be a while before we have to do this again. She is afraid to get tubes and we are hopeful that she will outgrow these.
