Buddy

Today is another one of those days where if you look out the window, the sun is brightly shining and the skies are blue, but it is actually very cold once you step outside. I have looked ahead at the ten-day forecast though and next weekend is supposed to be both beautiful and warm. I can hardly wait. I love nothing more than to sit outside in the sun and read. It’s too bad that the sun is bad for you because I love how it feels on my skin.

I noticed last night that since I posted after midnight, it made it look as though I was posting today (Sunday the 17th) when actually it was still the 16th and just late at night. I won’t be blogging every day, but I do plan to stay active. Even though there haven’t been many “past blog posts” so far, I appreciate what I have read. Below is the blog post from the past. In it, my parents dog, Buddy is mentioned. I am posting a picture of mom, dad and Buddy so you can see who I was referring to at the time.

Buds & Books

My parents had to take their dog to the vet today. He was bleeding quite badly from the behind. The vet first thought that he may have swallowed something poisonous. When that test came back negative, she said that he must have a stomach virus. So, Buddy the collie dog is staying overnight at the vet’s office. He has missed his walk for tonight and also his little snacks. He must be feeling pretty low right now. Hopefully, he will get better soon and get to go back home where he is loved.

I noticed that the weeping willow is budding all over today! Even the branch that was damaged by the ice storm has buds covering it. It is a wonderful sight! My tulips are coming right along and I think my Lamb’s Ear is waking up from a long winters rest. I can only hope that the warm temperatures will remain.

I started reading Blackwood Farm by Anne Rice today. I have an end table in the living room where I put books that I want to read. Right now there are two stacks of books with probably thirty books total. There are a lot of Agatha Christie books, but I like to read something different in between each one. If I read one murder mystery right after another, I would get them all mixed up. I miss Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot terribly, but they will have to wait until I finish this Anne Rice book. Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE Anne Rice, I’m just really into the British right now. I have only read the first two chapters and Lestat has already made an appearance. Who knows what will happen next? I must go read now!
