Last night, a woman contacted me through Facebook messenger. She said, “Haha you’re the one people have asked me about thinking I have a YouTube! We do both have London Tube station signs on our cover pages so that doesn’t help the confusion!”
Her name is Tami Dunn and she too has a picture of a Tube station on her Facebook cover page. Where mine says High Street Kensington, hers says Covent Garden. I looked through some of her pictures and could tell that she had traveled to London as well.
We actually had a really nice conversation. She is from California, but currently lives in Colorado. She said that she has visited London every year since 2008. Lucky lady! She suggested we visit Fortnum Mason food shop and Cath Kidston during our next visit. I told her that Cath Kidston was already on my list. It’s funny how Facebook can bring total strangers together.
In other news, I went to the mall with Ashley today. She was looking for a pair of jeans (she didn’t find any), so we shopped in New York & Company and a few other stores. She wants to keep looking. I suggested that once she finds a pair she likes, she buys TWO. Every time I love a pair of jeans, they have changed styles by the time I need more and no longer sell the ones I really love. American Eagle did that. I love the straight leg jeans and they no longer make them. It’s a shame because the ones they sell now are really snug on your legs and they don’t make them any other way (I asked).

Library Book Sale
Saturday was a busy day. We went to a book sale at the library. By the time we got there, they were letting you have as many books as you could fit in a Wal-Mart bag for only $1.00! I brought home three bags full. It will take me forever to read them all, but I will love every minute of it!
We went to Lowe’s and bought a gift card for my dad. His birthday is this Friday. He will be 51, but he doesn’t look a day over 45.
It poured the rain while we were there. I thought it would never stop. Luckily it let up enough for us to get out to the car and get in Wal-Mart before it started again. This time it was harder and louder. I found out later that the wind was so severe it uplifted houses and killed two people in Breathitt County. I had no idea how severe it was!
After putting up $200 worth of groceries (you can’t go in Wal-Mart without spending at LEAST $50), we headed to Strode Station for Amerifest 03′. This is an event at Ashley’s school that brings in a lot of money. You buy four tickets for $1.00 and then go around to different booths and spend your tickets. They had a giant slide in the gym, face painting, balloon animals, fingernail painting, tossing games and a whole lot more. Classes also made baskets and they auctioned them off. Ashley’s class made a basket with coffees and teas. I think relaxation was their basket topic. Ashley had a great time! Mr. May painted a cute black cat on her face.
When we finally got home, I had Kevin set up the foot fixer. I was so worn out! I vowed to Kevin that I would not be leaving the house at all tomorrow. And that is where I am at now. No makeup, no curling iron, no contacts – just me in my baggy pants and a sweater eating black jelly beans and catching up on all my magazines. Sounds like a good day to me!
Tami, I’m loving your blog and reading up from oldest to newest to catch up.
On the jeans front, I found a pair of straight leg jeans that I loved on Amazon. They are the Levi Strauss Women’s Modern Straight. I tried my first pair via Prime wardrobe, which lets you pick out a few items, have them shipped to your house to try on, and you aren’t charged for anything unless you choose to keep it. I loved the jeans so much I purchased two more pairs in different washes. 🙂
