As I said in my first post, I plan to share as many blog entries as I can from the past. That way, you can get some of the past and the present. I mention our son, Andrew in the post below. At the time, he was 14 years old. It’s hard to believe that he will turn 30 this year.

Ice Storm
Yesterday Andrew went to Leeds Theatre to see the play Oliver. He said that he really enjoyed it. I’m sure that he also enjoyed the hours out of school.
We had an ice storm here late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. The kids missed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The problem wasn’t with the roads; it was with tree branches freezing and falling in the roads. Many people lost their electric, but that was mainly in Lexington. Here in Winchester, we were pretty much spared. My poor weeping willow was weighed down by the heavy ice and one of the branches broke. We will have to get it cut off at some point.
The kids were supposed to get two weeks off for spring break, but I believe that one week will be lost making up for time off. Actually, that’s fine with me. I would rather they make the days up before June. I am really looking forward to the summer and the long nights when they can stay outside and ride their bikes until dark or go swimming all day. Summer is also a great time to get away from the TV. Everything is a rerun, so you really don’t have a schedule. You can just stay outside and have fun!
